But being away from family and friends proved too much for the young couple, and they eventually moved back to Pennsylvania. Marcus opened up a looming company, and also served in the Navy. She was a waitress for 23 years and then was a cashier at Public for 13 years. Irma and Marcus had four children.
In 1956, Irma and her little family moved to Florida for the warmer weather.
Since then, she has lost her husband and one of her sons to cancer. Irma is a self-professed TV junkie, enjoys watching the news and basketball. But her favorite sport is football. She is quite the knowledge expert about professional sports, and will not be afraid to debate you on who will make the playoffs…but she also enjoys getting her nails done.
